Get a taste of Puerto Rico and kick-off the Coquito Masters season! Join us as coquito-makers compete for the honor of the best “coquito”: a coconut and rum based beverage similar to egg nog. Coquito is traditionally served during the Christmas holiday in Puerto Rico. Contestants prepare one gallon of coquito, which is entered into a blind taste test, and the entry with the highest score wins for a chance to compete in the finals. Puerto Rican comedian, reformed journalist, and former Bronxite Bill Santiago will perform a comedy set while the coquito tallies are counted. To enter as a contestant: contact coquitomasters@gmail.com. Otherwise, come on down and sample some coquito! Free and open to the public.
